A Little Bit More

As a grandmother, I find myself walking a fine line between spoiling my grandchildren and not wanting them to be spoiled brats.

At Christmas time, this gets even harder. There is so much out there now and kids, (along with their parents), are often caught in the “keeping up with the Joneses” mentality. When we watch shows on television, we are bombarded with commercials singing praises of the latest gift idea. I hear “I want that” during those commercials at least ten times in an hour long program.

I only have two granddaughters, so spoiling them would be very easy. When asking them what they wanted for Christmas, I found that the younger one wanted everything, and would be happy with almost anything. But, I discovered that the older one really wanted a “Woody” doll from the movie Toy Story.
