Winter Storm Here Tuesday
Snow and ice are on the way – again.
On December 7 and 8 Fayette County was treated to a surprise snow storm that dumped an inch of frozen precipitation throughout the county – with some local areas seeing several inches of snow.
Usually that’s more snow than we see in several winters combined. But now The National Weather Service is forecasting another winter storm for Tuesday.
Here’s what the NWS is saying, “Confidence is increasing that a wintry mix is possible for the area on Tuesday into Tuesday night. Precipitation will start out as rain and transition to a wintry mix throughout the day.”
Also according to the NWS, Fayette County is included in an area that is expected to see “significant and dangerous travel impacts” because of sleet. That was not something that occurred during the December storm, which was mostly snow.
