Alwine Schneider

Funeral services for Alwine Schneider, 88, of Giddings, were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings with Rev. Robert Tiner and Rev. Chris Nietubicz officiating. Burial followed in the Giddings City Cemetery. Alwine Hedwig (Wernecke) Schneider was born on May 21, 1929 in Giddings, the daughter of Gustav and Selma (Prellop) Wernecke. Alwine was united in marriage to Harold Edgar Schneider on Aug. 8, 1948 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Giddings. Alwine died Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 at the Giddings Residence and Rehabilitation Center. She is survived by her two daughters, Janice Schneider of Giddings and Dianne Schneider and her husband, Clyde of Giddings; two grandchildren, Crystal Fritsche and her husband, Daniel of Loebau and Dustin Schneider and his wife, Katherine of Giddings; one great grandson, Easton Fritsche of Loebau; two sisters, Lillie Winter and her husband, Clarence of Austin and Frieda Wernecke of Giddings; one sister-in-law, Gloria Kesslar and her husband, Rocco of Sun City; one brother-in-law, Weldon Schneider of Copperas Cove as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings was in charge of arrangements.
