"SHS" Threat Shakes Up Schulenburg Thursday Morning

The Schulenburg High School campus was on alert Thursday morning, Feb. 22, after someone posted a threat to “SHS” on social media. Schulenburg Police Chief Troy Brenek said the post was directed at Springfield High School in Ohio.

“This is a nationwide incident,” Brenek said on Thursday. “We do not feel it is a credible threat, but we are patrolling campus and surrounding areas.”

Incidents similar to the one in Schulenburg played out in communities around the country that have schools with the initials “SHS.”

“Making threats like these just feeds the movement,” Brenek said.

The Schulenburg scare came only one day after a student at La Grange Middle School threatened to bring a gun to school on Wednesday.
