City of LG to Hire Outside Attorney in Subway Lawsuit
The La Grange City Council voted last week to hire an outside attorney to represent the City in La Grange Subway owner Tom Hudson’s lawsuit against the City.
Hudson filed the suit over what he considers an unconstitutional municipal ordinance that bans his business from using an electronic changeable message sign.
In a meeting on Monday, Feb. 26, Hudson spoke to the Council during the public comment period:
“I really don’t want y’all to spend the taxpayers money with this deal,” Hudson said. “We need to sit down and have a discussion about it. Not just one-sided. I’ve tried numerous ways to ask for a variance. There was a committee you voted on and approved, and it was then changed by staff. That would have worked out.”
