Arnold Edwin Kasper, 88, of Warda, died Friday, March 2, 2018. Arnold was born in Warda on October 6, 1929, the son of Edwin T. Kasper and Emilie (Bohot) Kasper. He was baptized at Holy Cross Lutheran Church by Pastor G.W. Buchschacher on Oct. 13, 1929 and confirmed by Pastor Eifert on April 18, 1943. He married Evelyn Noack Karisch on Feb. 17, 1956 in Houston. Arnold was a Sargent in the U.S. Army during the military occupation of Germany, Post- World War II, and was honorably discharged on August 7, 1952. He moved to Houston after being discharged from the military and was a shipping foreman for Mosher Steel Company. He and his family then moved back to Warda in 1962 and he was a selfemployed rancher and trucker for over 45 years. He was a member of the American Legion and Hermann Sons Life. Arnold enjoyed fishing and hunting, particularly elk hunting in Colorado and mule deer hunting in West Texas. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn, of 62 years; son, William A. Karisch and wife, Patricia, of La Grange; three grandchildren: Britton Quest Karisch and Sherry; Allison Karisch Suttle and Christopher; Constance Karisch Mouton and Aaron; three great-grandchildren: Ella Klein Suttle, Lilly Ann Mouton and Lyllah Rose Mouton; sister, Alice Meinke; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers and sisters-in-law: Fred Kasper and wife, Mabel; Harold Kasper and wife, Irene; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth Schumann and husband, Lambert; brother-in-law, Lloyd Meinke; and infant sister, Norma Kasper. Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 12 to 7 p.m. at Koenig & Strickland Funeral Home. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A prayer service followed beginning at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Burial followed at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Cross Cemetery Fund, P. O. Box 69, Warda, TX 78960 or Faith Lutheran High School, P. O.
