Ruether

Lawrence Jerome Ruether, 80, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2018 at his home in Eagle Lake. He was born in Ellinger on Feb. 10, 1938 to Charles D. and Mary Mascheck Ruether and raised in Fayetteville. Lawrence graduated from Fayetteville High School. He married his sweetheart Oze Ruether (on her birthday) Nov. 15, 1959. They spent their married life in Eagle Lake. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Oze Ruether; his son, Mark Ruether and wife Dee Ruether; his daughter Melissa and husband Clark Peterson; sister Ludie Dennis, sister Mary Ann Sommerfeld and husband El Gene, sister Joyce Muras; brother C. J. Ruether and wife Gloria; brother-in-law Mike Anderson; his grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and stepgreat- grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Columbus at 10 a.m. with burial at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery in Columbus. Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus was in charge of arrangements.
