Marjorie Mae (Vrana) Mach, 96, of Flatonia, died Thursday, March 8, 2018. Marjorie was born in Flatonia on Dec. 10, 1921, the daughter of A.L. Vrana and Emma (Hodanek) Vrana. She married Victor Charles Mach on Dec. 14, 1939. Marjorie was a homemaker and worked as a teacher’s aide for many years at Flatonia ISD. She and Victor were self-employed owning and operating sand and gravel trucks for road construction. They also ranched and operated feed lots beef production. There were times she had handled these by herself. She was very self-reliant, was always polite and considerate to everyone and never wanted to be a burden to anyone. Marjorie enjoyed spending time canning, driving her ATV to check on her cattle and tending to her chickens and hogs. She was an excellent baker baking homemade bread twice a week and was known for her wonderful Czech poppy seed and cream cheese kolaches. Her many hobbies included playing dominoes, gardening and spending time outdoors. She loved traveling the United States and made a trip to Alaska which she thoroughly enjoyed. She attended all of her grandkids baseball games and was so proud of them. Marjorie was very proud of her heritage where all endured the hard times of the Depression and WW II, plus she was very proud of her descendants. She is survived by five sons: Victor Mach, Jr. of Houston; Randolph Mach and wife, Aura, of Austin; Douglas Mach and wife, Glenda, of Flatonia; Kenneth Mach of Houston; and Morris Mach and wife, Diana, of Bastrop; twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor; three brothers: Alfred, Eddie and George Vrana; and one sister, Lillian Toler. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Family and friends can view and sign the guestbook online at www.lagrangefunerals.com.
