Dorothy Julia Franta Bertsch

Dorothy Julia Franta Bertsch, 84, of Columbus, died March 22, 2018 in Columbus. She was born on March 13, 1934 to Ludwig and Frances (Kovar) Franta in Plum. On June 14, 1954 she married Clarence J. Bertsch. Dorothy was a retired cafeteria worker for Columbus High School, and a homemaker. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Anthony Altar Society, Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Mary Queen of the Snows No. 1588, SPJST, and KJZT. Dorothy loved cooking, canning, and volunteer work at the nursing homes. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Bertsch and companion Larry Stolar of Columbus; son, Mark Bertsch, Sr. and wife Tina of Glidden; sister, Elsie Vasek of Plum; and grandson, Mark Bertsch, Jr. and fiancée Tessa Budd of Glidden. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence J. Bertsch, and parents, Ludwig and Frances Kovar Franta. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, 3 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Columbus with Father Augustine N. Asante officiating under the direction of Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus. Burial took place in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery in Columbus. Pallbearers were Mark Bertsch, Jr., Kent Hanna, Chad Kulhanek, Loren Bertsch, Richard Jacobs, and Landry Bertsch. Memorials are suggested to: St. Anthony Catholic Church or Altar Society, P.O.
