Remember when?

May 14-17, 1968

Thomas Eugene Adamcik, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Theo V. “Ted” Adamcik, and Norman William Johnston, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. N. “Bill” Johnston, were chosen to attend the annual American Legion Boys State in Austin. Thomas was the delegate of the La Grange American Legion, while Norman represented the La Grange Lions Clubs.

The annual Home Demonstration Achievement Day held at the Home Demonstration Building attracted about 100 people.

On the program was Schulenburg psychiatrist Dr. Robert Sheldon whose topic was “Understanding Yourself.” After a film showing Lady Bird Johnson’s visit to District 10, participants heard from George Blackburn of the Brenham Cotton Mill, who spoke about this new county industry. Later, Mrs. Rose Rumancik of Fayetteville demonstrated liquid embroidery.
