Remember when?

June 14-18, 1968

Fayette County Commissioners adopted a resolution to furnish cost-free a 120-foot right-of-way clear of obstructions to the state on a section of FM 155 south of Holman. The 1.6-mile stretch, which contained several curves and a 90-degree turn, had been the scene of several serious accidents in prior years.

The children’s story hour at the La Grange City library got off to a pleasant start when 10 youngsters came to listen to stories read by older schoolgirls under a tree on the grounds. Taking part were: Alice Hajovsky; Peggy and Debbie Supak; John Bartos; Ann and Elaine Echel of Garland; and Julia, Darrin, Clay and Laura Kolbe and their dog, Butch. Readers were: Nancy Zingelmann, Patsy Cox, Marilyn Oglesby, Martha Janssen and Melissa and Roberta McMillion.
