Edna Elizabeth Baggerly- Schultze, born Feb. 15, 1924, died May 22, 2018, was the oldest of 10 children born to Arthur Allen and Pearl Stiles Baggerly in Plainfield, New Jersey. The family moved to Pennsylvania when she was young she attended school there. Her love of education led her to an undergraduate degree in Education from Adelphi University on Long Island, NY and she then went on to earn her Master’s degree and do Doctoral work at Columbia University. She taught elementary school for many years and then trained as a reading specialist. She was extremely proud of her family and encouraged them to follow their dreams. Edna was passionate about genealogy and an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the French and Indian Wars, and Daughters of the Mayflower. She attended the First Presbyterian Church of La Grange. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold E. Schultze, brothers Howard, Allen, and George Baggerly, and sisters Ruth Baggerly Daniels and Rosemary Baggerly. She leaves behind her son, Richard W. Schultze and wife Heidi Schultze, her daughter Janet Parker and husband Loren (Buzz) Parker, all of La Grange. Her beloved grandchildren Christine Brown and husband John Mark Brown, Jennifer Ferrante and husband Tony Ferrante,and David Schultze, great granddaughters Regan, and Rebecca Brown, and Kyla and Claire Ferrante. She is also survived by her brothers, John Baggerly and wife Ruth, Paul Baggerly; and sisters Ersa May Rae, and Helen White. Her nieces and nephews are much loved, but too numerous to mention. The family plans a celebration of her life on June 23, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of La Grange followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, any donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of La Grange.
