Franklin Raymond Matocha, Sr., 83, of La Grange and formerly of Rosenberg died June 21, 2018. He was born on Oct. 18, 1934 in Cistern, Texas to Joe and Genevieve (Janacek) Matocha. He honorably served our country in the U.S. Army. This loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend will be missed. Franklin is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Benjamin Matocha; sisters, Lena Bacak, Annie Tupa, Wilma Stryk, and Mary Trlicek; and brothers, Benno, J.C. and Charlie Matocha. Survivors include his children, Vincent Matocha and wife, Mary, Franklin Matocha, Jr. and wife, Holli, and Angie Matocha; brother, Ted Matocha and wife, Evelyn; grandchildren, Greg, Nicholas, Philip, Rachel, Dylan and Matthew Matocha, and Anna and Ben Stribling; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Visitation was held from 3 to 6 p.m. with a Rosary at 5 p.m., Sunday, June 24, 2018 in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. The mass will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 25, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg with Father William D. Bartniski officiating. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. at the Sts. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery in Cistern. Franklin’s grandsons will serve as pallbearers. For those wishing, memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church (La Grange) School Endowment Fund, Holy Rosary Catholic Church (Rosenberg) School Endowment Fund or to the American Cancer Society. Tributes and words of condolences may be left for the family at www.davisgreenlawnfh.com.
