Remenber When?

June 12-16, 1968

The new booster fire truck delivered to the La Grange Fire Station was too big to fit through the doors. Mounted on a 1968 GMC chassis and costing approximately $11,000, the truck had a 500-gallon water tank with a pump rated at 250 gallons per minute.

According to Sheriff T. J. Flournoy, it must have been the meanest person on earth who invaded the La Grange City Cemetery sometime Wednesday night or Thursday morning and robbed a white cast iron lawn settee from the M. C. Dippel gravesite. He asked anyone who might have seen suspicious characters at the cemetery that night to kindly contact him. The informant’s information would be kept confidential.
