Mueller

Funeral service for former Lawton resident, MSG (ret) Leslie F. Mueller, 78, of Columbus, were held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 6, 2018 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home. Mueller died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2018, in Columbus. Burial will be at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill, Okla. Visitation was held on Sunday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Leslie was born on Oct. 11, 1939 in La Grange to Elo and Minnie (Havemann) Mueller Kasper. He served his country in the United States Army, retiring after 25 years of dedicated service. While in the military, he received many awards and medals including the National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Leaf Citation, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Overseas Service Bars (2), Driver and Mechanic Badge/Driver with Bar, Meritorious Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, (4th Award) and the Expert Qualification Badge (Rifle and M16). Leslie married Myong Suk Mueller on June 7, 1974 in Korea. She died Dec. 30, 2006. He is survived by two sisters, Ray Ann Michalsky and husband, Laddie, of La Grange, and Susan Hernandez and husband, Bennie, of Columbus; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home in Lawton, Okla. was in charge of arrangements.
