A typewriter valued at $60 was stolen from W. W. Motor Co. in Flatonia during the night of July 17. Two suspects were apprehended in Baytown, Texas, in a stolen car with the typewriter in their possession.

The three-member Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission approved charging park entrance fees to pay $5.75 million in bonds to buy and develop recreation sites in areas of greatest need near major metropolitan centers. Monument Hill State Park was charging 25¢ per adult and 10¢ for children six to 12.
