Rosa Lee (Ignasiak) Tobias, 90, of Ellinger, died on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. Rosa Lee was born in Austin County on Nov. 26, 1927, the daughter of Joe and Virgie (Krusleski) Ignasiak. She married first husband, Edward Rose (the father of her three children) and second husband, Ed Tobias on Oct. 21, 1982. She worked at a gun assembly plant in Houston during World War II and at the University of Houston print shop while married to Edward Rose. After marrying Ed Tobias, she became a homemaker. Rosa Lee enjoyed working in her yard planting and growing flowers, and playing bingo and cards. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends. She loved to cook coconut pies, raisin cookies, cream puffs and banana pudding for her family. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren have fond memories of the song “You are My Sunshine” and the saying “I love you a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.” She is survived by daughter, Dale Braswell and husband, Mike; and son, John Rose, all of Ellinger, Texas; three sisters: Flora Lee Duval of Victoria, Texas; Dorothy Sistrunk of Bellville; Janet Cooper and husband, Larry, of Pearland; brother, Vic Ignasiak and wife, Caroline of Bellville; six grandchildren: Karen Gunter and husband, Mike; Kristie Butler; Kim Hampshire and husband, Bart; Amber Rose; Brandy Wessels and husband, Ridge; and Sunye Braswell; twelve great grandchildren: Brant, Brittany, Camryn, Tanner, Shelby, Braya, Blaine, Kandace, Christopher, Zak, Zoe and Riley; and two great-great grandchildren: Kaylee and Patrick. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Edward; and second husband, Ed; and daughter, Carol Frenzel. Visitation was held on Friday, Aug. 3, 2018 from 5 to 6 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger. A Rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Funeral services were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2018. Burial followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, P.O.
