Heger

Anna Marie (Vacula) Heger, 87, of La Grange, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2018. Anna was born in La Grange on Sept. 14, 1930, the daughter of Frank and Marie (Zvonek) Vacula. She married Frank Heger III on Nov. 10, 1951 in Plum. Anna began her career at the age of eighteen and retired after 55 years of employment. She was excellent with numbers and worked as a bookkeeper at most of her jobs. She and Frank also operated Post Oak Inn and Mullins Prairie Store for many years. She retired in 2004 from Weikel’s Bakery. Anna was a loving sister, wife, mother and grandmother. She found joy in babysitting her grandchildren and watching them play sports, especially baseball. She was an excellent cook and baker. She loved to can pickles and bake homemade strudel. She is survived by three sons; Nicholas Ray Heger and wife, Rosemary, of La Grange; Frank K. Heger and wife, Diane, of Weimer; and Randy Heger and wife, Jean, of La Grange; two sisters: Dolly Newton of Maysfield; and Clara (Clancy) Taylor of La Grange; six grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Frank on June 29, 2011; two half-brothers: Frank and Louis Vacula; two half-sisters: Ludmilla Vacula Kubos and Marie Vacula LeBlanc. Visitation was held on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018 from 12 to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Holman at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, 2018. Burial will follow at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, FM 155, La Grange, Texas 78945 or to Hospice Brazos Valley, 1048 N. Jefferson St., La Grange, Texas 78945.
