Gloria Jean “Oma” Krancher, of Cypress, passed away peacefully on Aug. 4, 2018.She spent her final days surrounded by her family who both loved and admired her dearly: daughters, Kathy Benz, and Kelley Stewart (and husband, Kelso), and son, Robert Krancher (and wife, Marianne), and grandchildren, Morgan Miller (and husband, Daylon), Madison Messina, Macy Messina, Kelso Stewart, Zakary Krancher, Nikolas Krancher and her loyal dog, Dolly. Gloria was born in La Grange and attended Sacred Heart Catholic School until she moved to Houston during her time in junior high school. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Ray Krancher; parents, Otto and Mary Lee Urban; and mother- in- law, Marie Lee Kennedy. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018 at 5 p.m. in the evening at Forest Park Westheimer Funeral Home (12800 Westheimer Road, Houston, Texas 77077) followed by a Rosary Service at 7 o’clock in the evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018 at 11 o’clock in the morning at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church (11507 Huffmeister Road, Houston) followed by a reception, and a Committal Service will be held graveside at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetary at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to one of the many charties that Gloria generously supported would be appreciated: Covenant House, Habitat for Humanity, Houston Food Bank or Houston SPCA.
