Sept. 3-6, 1968

Two San Antonio men were in custody and two others were being sought in connection with the burglary of the Kolar Drive-In at Flatonia. A 17-year-old male, who had been apprehended driving a stolen car in San Antonio, made a voluntary statement before Sheriff T. J. Flournoy, admitting to the breakin and implicating three others. A second man was recuperating in a San Antonio hospital after being shot by officers as he attempted to flee while in the act of committing another burglary in that city.

Fayette County Sheriff T. J. Flournoy deplored the tragic loss of five lives in Fayette County during August 1968, three in a tragic train-car accident at Muldoon.
