Woodfin

Ruby Lois (Meyer) Woodfin, 92, of New Ulm, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018. Ruby was born in New Ulm on Sept. 10, 1925, the daughter of Lee and Gertie (Gross) Meyer. She married William Elton Woodfin on Nov. 9, 1946 in Houston. After Ruby and William started a family, she remained home to raise her children. Ruby had a passion for flower gardening, hand crafts, sewing and reading. She is survived by two sons: Terry Woodfin of Hempstead; Wayne Woodfin and wife, Cynthia, of Spring; one daughter, Diane Taylor and husband, Tommy, of Dripping Springs; two brothers: Currie Lee Meyer and wife, Mary, of Humble; and Earl Henry Meyer and wife, Jenny, of Caldwell; four grandchildren: Amber Woodfin, Kelsy Woodfin, Halie Woodfin and William Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Gertie; husband, William; and sister, Leila Joyce Meyer. Visitation was held on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Zaskoda Chapel in Industry. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services were held at Industry United Methodist Church, Industry, Texas, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018. Burial will follow in the New Ulm Cemetery.
