Malke

Funeral services for Freddie Malke, 76, of Warda, were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda with Rev. Dennis Tegtmeier officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Freddie Marvin Malke was born on Jan. 11, 1942 in La Grange, the second of two sons born to Wilhelm “Willie” August Malke and Rosine “Rosie” Hermine (Mertink) Malke. He was baptized on Jan. 25, 1942 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda by Rev. Paul Eifert and confirmed on March 30, 1958 also at Holy Cross Lutheran Church by Rev. Herbert Hartfield. He worked for many years on local farms and ranches. Freddie was a faithful member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda. He enjoyed growing plants from the cuttings of other plants, fishing and gardening. He was a fan of the sports teams in La Grange and Warda. He will be remembered for his smile and cheerful personality. Freddie died Sunday, September 2, 2018 at St. David’s Medical Center in Austin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Rosie Malke and his brother, Erwin Willie Malke. Freddie is survived by several cousins and his church family at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda. Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, P.O.
