Remember when?

A 1960 Chevrolet stolen from the Jimmy Pratt home about a mile and a half south of Carmine on Sunday morning was recovered a short time later between Round Top and Carmine pretty well wrecked. A 17-year-old Houston youth was in jail charged with auto theft. Pratt, who heard his Chevy roar away, gave chase in another car before telephoning Sheriff T. J. Flournoy, who alerted Patrolman N. E. Purgerson patrolling in the area. A passing motorist summoned Constable Bobby Friedrich after seeing the wrecked car and a man running. Then two farmers who heard of the theft caught the youth and held him at bay with a shotgun until officers arrived.
