Leander Woman Jailed for Marijuana Found During Traffic Stop
A Leander woman ended up in the Fayette County Jail after a deputy found marijuana in her car during a traffic stop.
Sheriff Keith Korenek reports on Tuesday night around 10:41 p.m., Deputy Colin Godmintz conducted a traffic stop on SH 71
near Loop 543 in the West Point area for a traffic violation.
"Upon making contact with the driver Deputy Godmintz detected the odor of Marijuana emitting from the vehicle," the report stated. "When asked about the odor of
Marijuana the driver admitted she had Marijuana and gave a clear baggy containing a green leafy substance to Godmintz. When questioned about other illegal drugs in the vehicle the driver gave up a vapor pen that she advised contained THC oil, and also a couple of multi - color marijuana gummies.
Godmintz arrested 26-year-old Crystal Martinez of Leander, who was transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center and
charged with Possession of Marijuana.
Assisting with the traffic stop was DPS Trooper Josh Berger.
