Student Threatens La Grange High School on Social Media
La Grange ISD Superintendent Bill Wagner issued the following statement Thursday evening, Sept. 13, regarding a threat school officials learned about on social media:
”This evening, La Grange ISD and the La Grange Police Department became aware of a verbal threat made by a La Grange High School Student to the safety of the La Grange High School campus. The La Grange Police Department responded to the verbal threat and are in the process of investigating the incident. The student who made the threat will not be attendance at school. La Grange ISD is not aware of any actual plan to carry out the threat.
“We would like to remind parents to have conversations with their children about the seriousness of making threats of violence whether it be verbal, written, or on social media platforms or even in a joking manner. We also wish to remind parents and students that if they see or hear something, report it.
“School safety and preventing violence at school will continue to be a major focus. We strive each day to give our students an environment that is safe and peaceful.”
The Record will update this story as we learn more.
