William Pitchford, 91, known to his friends as Bill, went to join Louisa, his wife of nearly 60 years, on Monday morning, Sept. 17, 2018. Bill was born in Yuma, Ariz. on March 12, 1927. Like most young men of his age, Bill served his country during WWII, choosing to join the Army Air Corps. After marrying Louisa in 1953, the couple had three children, Linda, Debra, and Kevin. During Bill’s career with the Bureau of Reclamation, the family lived in several states, plus Puerto Rico. After retirement, and with children all grown, Bill and Louisa went on to live in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Pakistan while Bill served as an engineering consultant for the U.S. State Department. Retiring once again, Bill and Louisa settled in La Grange after spending time in Oregon and Arizona. After Louisa passed in 2012, Bill moved to Corpus Christi to be closer to his son, Kevin. His children and grandchildren love him dearly and will miss him terribly, but they also know he is where his heart has been for the last six years – he is once again with his beloved Louisa. Funeral services in La Grange are still pending, while cremation services were provided by Guardian Funeral Home of Corpus Christi
