Second Chance Stories

The books Sandy Brown brought to the checkout desk at Second Chance Emporium last week were stacked in two, very tall and teetering towers.

There were enough books in Brown’s haul to keep a classroom of young scholars busy for weeks, which is a good thing because Sandy Brown spends most days teaching third and fourth graders at the Waelder Independent School District

We’ve all heard of teachers who spend money out of their own pockets to enrich their classrooms. Sandy Brown is one of those heroes. She says that every two weeks or so, she comes to the non-profit second hand clothing, furniture and book store located on South Reynolds Street in La Grange and buys for her students.
