LHS Class of 1958 Celebrates 60th Anniversary

Thirty-four classmates of the class of 1958, plus a number of spouses and guests, celebrated and recalled memories of glorious high school days six decades ago at their reunion at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club on Saturday, Oct. 13.

The class started with about 100 freshmen, which produced 85 graduating seniors in 1958. Class sponsors were teachers Rosa Meinecke, Weldon Chambers, Howard Anderson and Billy Walker. A Toast to the Class was led by Rodney Koenig, who served as M C for the evening. Classmate Jewel Schulz Kay compiled a list of 24 classmates who had passed on. A reading of the list of those departed classmates, followed by a long moment of silence, allowed all to remember those classmates, and to consider their good fortune in being able to have this celebration.
