Midterms, Mudslinging and Civil Conversations
Midterm elections have historically been notorious for low voter turnout, but this time, things were different.
As I watched the pre-election activity, I noted the usual political advertising, but I also noticed a surge in interest. I saw younger people getting more involved than they have in the past. I saw candidates on both sides campaigning a bit more than before. I saw more early voting than in a very long time.
I see all of this as a good thing. I also saw a large amount of ugliness being played out on social media. This, my friends, is not a good thing.
