County Leaders Try to Get Better Handle on Increased Oil Activity
Perhaps you’ve noticed those large 8-12-inch, black, water pipes snaking their way along county road rights-of-way, in some cases through culverts. They are supplying water to oil well drilling sites, primarily for fracing.
On Monday, seeking to get a handle on increased oil and gas activity in the county and its impact on county roads, county commissioners decided to consider “requirements, conditions and terms” regarding the placement of those temporary water lines.
