Bohot

Victor Calvin Bohot, 89, of La Grange, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2018.

Victor was born in Serbin on Oct. 9, 1929, the son of Gerhard Paul Bohot and Hulda Marie (Lorenz) Bohot. He married Elva Ruth Bunte on Oct. 9, 1950 in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged from Fort Bliss on June 16, 1952.

Victor spent a lifetime farming and ranching. For 12 years he was employed as a carpenter for A. Grohmann & Sons in Weimar and later in his career he was self-employed for 13 years in building construction.

He was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church. Victor was a proud member of the VFW Post #5254 and American Legion Post #102.

He is survived by his wife, Elva; three sons: Leland Morris Bohot and wife, Sharon, of Houston; Calvin Paul Bohot and wife, Becky, of La Grange; and Howard Dalton Bohot and wife, Phyllis, of La Grange; one grandson, Matthew Lee Bohot; three granddaughters: Angela Bohot, Zabrina Rose and Mike Sloan, and Kristen Lynn Vandever and husband, Josh, of Brenham; three great granddaughters: Abigail Karstedt, Mikayla Sloan and Rebekka Aleman; and one great grandson, Nickolus Sloan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Alma Nolan, Mary Menzel and Elsie Charles; four brothers: Walter, Edmond, Clifford and Earl Bohot.

Visitation was held on Friday, Nov. 23, 2018 from 2 to 9 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Family will receive friends from 5 to 9 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018. Burial will follow at La Grange City Cemetery.
