Zikuhr

Marie (Scheu) Zikuhr, 65, of Katy, peacefully slipped away with her loved ones by her side on Monday, Nov. 26, 2018. Marie was born in Houston on Nov. 8, 1953, the daughter of E.L. Robert and Ann (Ely) Scheu. George Zikuhr met Marie when they were twelve years old and became soul mates. Marie married George on Oct. 16, 1971 in Katy where they have lived for 45 years. Marie was a wonderful mother and wife. All of the kids in the neighborhood would come to her home after school and wait for their parents to pick them up. She dearly loved children. Marie was a true friend to anyone and she loved to dance. She is survived by her husband George, of 47 years; one daughter, Tisha Lanning and husband, Marc, of Katy; one son, Wesley Zikuhr of La Grange; five sisters: Robyn Bass and Jackie Talamantes, both of Round Top; Janet Dixon of Spring; Wanda Scheu of Round Top; Shellie Scheu of Oklahoma; one brother, Robert Scheu of Oklahoma; and two grandchildren: Dillon and Hailey Lanning. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation was held on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A Remembrance Service will be held at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations at 11:11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018.
