Hungerford

Patricia “Patti” Hielscher Hungerford, 59, of La Grange, died Friday, Nov. 30, 2018. Patti was born in Houston on July 29, 1959, the daughter of Carroll Ernst Hielscher and Barbara (Pampell) Hielscher. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Houston. She graduated from Wharton Junior College on May 16, 1980 and while in college she was lead twirler of the marching band. Patti also attended Sam Houston State University. After attending college, she lived in Corpus Christi and Dallas and then moved to Winchester in the 1980’s. Patti worked in oilfield sales in the mid 1980s during the oilfield boom. After her career in sales, she became a cosmetologist and later retired to enjoy traveling and taking care of her animals. Patti loved traveling to Rockport. She enjoyed farm life and tending to her beloved animals which included pot belly pigs, horses and dogs. She also loved riding horses, enjoyed cooking for family and friends, reading, and watching movies. She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Terry Hungerford; two brothers: Jerry Hielscher and Scott Hielscher and wife, Cindy, all of Winchester; aunt, Mary Watts and husband, Kenneth, of Katy; nieces and nephews: Heather and Greg Deters, Jerry and Amber Hielscher, Ashley Hielscher, Charles Hielscher, Hadley Deters and Scout Hielscher; cousins: Kirt Watts and Kelli Bloxham and husband, Chris; Jordan Watts; McKay Bloxham and Parker Jo Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister-in-law, Judy Hielscher. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations, 208 W. Pearl St. in La Grange. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
