Austin Bella Corda Free Concert Coming Up Here Dec. 15

If someone out there in readership land knows how and why we here in Fayette County are able to host so many exceptional musical concerts, please let me know. ‘Cause, BAM! Here we go again.

Just got word the talented guitar ensemble, Austin Bella Corda (ABC) is scheduled to perform at St. James Episcopal Church on December 15 (3 p.m., free admission). Although the ABC is a draw in its own right, it is the impressive soloist who will probably be the showstopper.

That soloist is 17-year old guitar phenom Aytahn Benavi. At age five, Aytahn began lessons with Director Kevin Taylor’s Childbloom Program, which teaches pre-college young folks guitar. He was and is a remarkable technician on the classical guitar. Check Aytahn out on YouTube where you’ll witness his skill with Pujol’s “Tango de Lejos.” You‘ll view the 15-year-old player whose consummate skills are seasoned and stratospheric, beyond this writer’s ability to critique. Then, check out the video of him at 11 years old where you can sense the greatness to come.
