Collins Sr.

Eugene Collins Sr., 90, of Kyle, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018 at Regent Care Center of San Marcos.

He was born June 5, 1928 to Julius Brown and Mattie (Collins) Scott. He married Mabel (Fields) Collins, served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant, andworked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of Jackson Chapel UMC in San Marcos.

He is survived by his wife, Mabel Collins of San Marcos; daughter, Jimmie Kay and husband Sedrick Ware; son, Eugene Collins, Jr. and wife Arlene of Houston; sisters, Willie Mae Keeling of La Grange and Ruby Jewel and husband Charles Thompson of San Antonio. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, three sisters, and one daughter.

Funeral services were held at First United Methodist Church in La Grange at 12 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, 218 with Rev. Isaac Williams officiating.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Tommy E. Taylor Funeral Home in La Grange.
