Dunk

Funeral services for William “George” Dunk, 81, of Giddings, were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda with Rev. Dennis Tegtmeier officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

William George Dunk was born on March 4, 1937 in Northrup, the son of Ernst “E.A.” Alfred Dunk and Alma Helen (Zoch) Dunk. George graduated from Giddings High School and received his degree from Concordia Lutheran College. He was united in marriage to Eunice Joyce Urban on June 4, 1960 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln by Rev. Henry Gerike. Together they raised two children, Nathan and Pamela.

George died the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018 at St. David’s Medical Center in Austin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Alma Dunk; three sisters, Alice Zoch, Tusnelda Mertink, and Junelle Mittasch and three infant brothers.

George is survived by his wife, Eunice Dunk of Giddings; one son, Nathan Dunk and his wife, Jessica of Giddings; one daughter, Pam Dunk of Giddings; four grandchildren, Kyle Dunk and his wife, Lindsey of Gonzales, Jeremy Dunk of Giddings, Jacob Green and his wife, Jacquese Brown of Austin and Jordyn Green of Giddings; one great grandson, Malique Green of Austin, as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
