Traffic Stops Lead to Arrests in Flatonia

Flatonia Chief of Police Perry Kram reports on the following incidents his department responded to recently:

On Nov. 9, a reckless driving episode ended with multiple arrests. Sergeant Mark Pritchard and Officer Llanes observed the suspect vehicle skidding around the corner of the Interstate 10 Westbound Frontage Road, accelerating to an excessive speed right up behind another vehicle with possible contact. The vehicle made it to SH 95 and began traveling Southbound in the wrong lane of traffic. A traffic stop eventually was conducted. During the roadside interview the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected coming from the driver and the passenger. Several indicators determined a very high level of intoxication in both subjects. The driver was placed in custody for Driving While Intoxicated with an Open Container and Reckless Driving. The passenger was placed in custody for Public Intoxication. Both subjects were transported to the Dan R. Beck. Justice Center. The vehicle was released to Bob’s Towing and Recovery.
