Canik

Lorena (Crenek) Canik, 100, of Fayetteville, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018. Lorena was born in Nada, Texas on Sept. 19, 1918, the daughter of Edward and Adela (Warschak) Crenek. She married Rudolph Canik on Oct. 4, 1938 in Frelsburg. She is survived by son, Gilbert Canik of Industry; two daughters: Madeline Vitek and husband, Frank; Dorothy Gully, all of Fayetteville; brother, Edgar Crenek of Friendswood; sister-in-law, Tonie Halfmann of Columbus; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rudolph; grandson, Chris Vitek; daughter-in-law, Darlene Canik; son-in-law, Clem Gully; and sister-in-law, Gertrude Crenek. Visitation was held on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018 from 12 to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Knesek Chapel, 207 N. Live Oak St. in Fayetteville. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 205 E. Bell St. in Fayetteville, at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21, 2018. Burial will follow at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Frelsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, P.O. Box 57, Fayetteville, Texas 78940 or a charity of one’s choice.
