Amanda Caitlin (Zoch) Knox, 32, of La Grange, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018. Amanda was born in Austin on Feb. 7, 1986, the daughter of Ron and Cyndy (Knue) Zoch. She married the love of her life, Cory Knox, on July 29, 2011 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda. Cory and Amanda were also blessed with their beautiful daughter, Emma. She attended Texas Christian University in Fort Worth and received her B.A. and Master’s in Education to pursue her passion to teach. Amanda’s love for education led her to teach Social Studies for seven years at the La Grange Middle School. Amanda also worked with GT Students and helped train teachers in the use of classroom technology and best teaching practices. Amanda was a devoted mother and friend. She enjoyed helping others, volunteering at her church, being an active member of the Holy Cross Ladies Aid, traveling with family, reading, and expanding her knowledge of history. In her spare time, Amanda even learned the craft of making her own natural soaps and Chapstick to gift to her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband, Cory, of seven years; daughter, Emma; parents, Ron and Cyndy Zoch, of La Grange; sister, Megan (Zoch) Lamont and husband, Brett, of Giddings; nephew, Jett; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Debbie and Wayne Knox of Warda; grandmother, Clara Zoch of Austin; grandmothers-in-law, Evelyn Cervenka of Taylor and Jo Knox of Warda; two brothers-in-law, Ryan and Dustin Knox of Warda; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 21, 2018 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations in La Grange. A memorial service will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Cross Ladies Aid; Hospice of Brazos Valley; the Emily Fritsch Scholarship Fund; or to a charity of one’s choice.
