Fred Seymour, 80, a longtime resident of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 at his home in Fayetteville. Fred was born in Krebs, West Virginia on Nov. 25, 1938, the son of James and Elizabeth (Darling) Seymour. On Aug. 6, 1965, he married Carol Seymour of Houston. They celebrated 53 years of marriage together and the joy of their three sons and families, who were the most important part of their lives along with all of the grandkids and numerous nieces and nephews. Fred was a devoted member of the Pipefitters Union Local 211, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed helping others, hunting and fishing with family, and watching the numerous activities his grandchildren were involved in. He often worked at Second Chance Emporium with Carol, working with Habitat for Humanity, Church Council, and the annual activities at church. He was known for being hard working, kind, and helpful. Fred and Carol served their church St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fayetteville in many capacities, including Shared Lutheran Ministry Council, Teller’s Committee, etc. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family and all who knew him. He is survived by his three sons: Barnett Seymour and wife, Betty Jo; Brian Seymour and wife, Meshell; and Darren Seymour and wife, Natalie; sisters Brycie Kitchen, Frances Jones, Maris Penney, and Kay Muniza; brothers Michael and Stan Seymour, six grandchildren: Kristi, Michelle, Savannah, Deliliah, Jace and Jenna; and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Carol, brothers: Neal and Ed, sister: Priscilla, and his parents. A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Fayetteville at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec, 21, 2018 with Pastor Marcia Kifer officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 201 N. Rusk, Fayetteville, Texas 78940.
