Memorial services for Mary Tristan, 78, formerly of El Campo, are scheduled for 11 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019 at the La Grange Seventh-day Adventist Church in La Grange. Mary (Alaniz) Tristan was born on Dec. 30, 1940 in Mackay, the daughter of Alfredo and Margarita (Mendoza) Alaniz. She grew up and attended school in El Campo. Mary retired from Cordell Cabinets in El Campo after working there for over 17 years. She was always a hard worker who worked most of her life. Mary enjoyed listening to music and dancing. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed cooking for them. Mary is survived by her three children, Susan Garcia and her husband, Jesse of Placedo, Diana Leal of Dime Box and David Sanchez and his wife, Brenda of La Grange; seven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Ricky Alaniz and his wife, Debbie of Ganado and Joe Alaniz of The Valley as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the La Grange Seventh-day Adventist Church or the charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
