Henderson’s Buzzer-Beater Highlights Big Week for Lep Hoops

What a week it was for the La Grange basketball program.

Last week, the La Grange girls notched two big victories in very different scenarios, while the Lep boys edged Brazos 39-35 to improve their record to 12-5 overall.

On New Year’s Eve, the La Grange girls defeated Schulenburg 51-39 in a game played at San Antonio’s AT&T Center.

Then the Lady Leps turned around Friday and went on the road and defeated Bellville 46-44 in the district opener for both teams as Krissy Henderson scored a tie-breaking lay-up at the buzzer. Henderson scored a team-high 15 points for La Grange. The Lady Leps are 11-11 overall and 1-0 in district, and play at Navasota Tuesday and then at home Friday at 6:15 p.m. against Giddings.
