LG Sweeps Giddings in District Hoops Doubleheader

Talk about a strong varsity debut.

In the span of four quarters, La Grange’s Aysia Grant went from being a scared freshmen to the leading scorer in the Lady Leps most important win of the season so far.

Grant scored 14 points as the La Grange girls beat Giddings 60-47 at home Friday. The victory improved the Lady Leps’ district record to 2-1 and their overall record to 12-12.

“I was nervous,” Grant said about her varsity debut. “From Wednesday to now, I was thinking, ‘what am I going to do?’ I was scared. I think I did good. I just counted on my team helping me.”

La Grange head coach Heath Golan said Grant helped in a lot of different ways Friday.
