Winchester 4-H to Hold Shrimp Boil

The Winchester 4-H Show Fund will hold its 1st Annual Shrimp Boil on March 2 at 6 p.m. at the St. Michael’s Park in Winchester. Meal tickets will be $25 each and the meal will include shrimp, sausage, corn and potatoes. Only 300 tickets will be sold, and you may contact Winchester 4-H members or call Melvin Schulze at (979) 249-6959.
WACA Domino Tournament
The Winchester Area Civic Association Annual Domino Tournament has been scheduled for Sunday, February 17, at the St. Michael’s Park in Winchester. A fried chicken dinner will also be served. Please mark your calendars now. More information will be included in future columns.
Round Table Book Club
On Jan. 29 at 6 p.m., the club will meet at the home of Barbara Schafer to participate in the National Book Club review of a new book, “The Girls of 17 Swann Street,” written by Yara Zgheib. Book Movement, a website that helps book clubs find great books more easily and manage club activities more effectively, has selected the Winchester Round Table Book Club to participate in the reviewing of this new book, which will be released on February 5. The regular February book club selection is “Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine” by Gail Honeyman, and will be reviewed on February 19 at 7 p.m. at Zilss Hall. All are welcome.
