Funeral services for Bernice Schulz, 91 of Houston, were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda with Pastor Donald Black, Pastor David Leeand and Rev. Dennis Tegtmeier officiating. Burial followed in the Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation was held Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the church. Viola Bernice Foerster Schulz was born to Paul Bernhard “Ben” and Clara Theresia Foerster in Warda on Oct. 14, 1927. She was baptized and confirmed at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda. Bernice and Edgar Ernst Henry Schulz were married on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, 1946 at Holy Cross. Bernice went into the arms of the Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019 at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Schulz; parents, Ben and Clara Foerster; sister, Ruby Foerster, and her brother, Herbert Foerster. She is survived by her daughters, Linda and husband, Jim Baccus, Debra and husband, Bob Fanning; granddaughter, Reagan and husband, Darrell Wolfe; granddaughter, Kacey Baccus; grandson, Cameron Fanning, and two great granddaughters, Ryann Wolfe and Ellie Wolfe. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Worker Scholarship Fund, 800 Houston Ave., Houston, Texas 77007, or the charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Phillips and Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.
