Inmate Could Face Additional Charges for Courthouse Incident
The inmate who broke a window at the courthouse last week was Billy Polasek, the 36-year-old La Grange man facing a felony child injury charge stemming from the 2016 death of a local infant.
Chief Deputy Randy Noviskie of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was in the district courtroom when the incident happened last Wednesday morning, Jan. 23.
“He was in front of the judge and when he returned to sit down in the jury box, he hit his head against the historic wooden shutters and the shutters broke out glass,” Noviskie told the Record.
Noviskie said Polasek was wearing leg irons and handcuffs during his court appearance.
