Western Women Meet Dr. Temple Grandin
Interested in learning more about the autistic brain, a group of young adults who are part of “And Then” traveled to Brenham on Saturday, Feb. 2 to meet Dr. Temple Grandin and hear her speak. Dr. Grandin is celebrated for being one of the first individuals on the autism spectrum to share her personal understanding of the autistic brain with the public.
She was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1947, and after being diagnosed at an early age she went on to become an influential author, speaker, and a professor of animal science at Colorado State University. Her sensory-focused brain has given her the ability to understand animal behaviors in a unique way, and she has certainly transformed the ways in which meatprocessing facilities operate across the world.
