Ickert
Warren Dale Ickert, 75, of Round Top, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2019.
Warren was born in Burton on Sept. 05, 1943, the son of Denover Ickert and Elvira (Weyand) Ickert. He married DouVena Killion Knipe on Dec. 22, 1982 in Houston.
Warren graduated from Fayetteville High School and then moved to Houston. He worked in construction before beginning a 16-year employment at Armor Packing Company and then later retired from National Flame and Forage Inc. after 28 years of employment.
While waiting to be deployed as a field medic in Viet Nam, Warren was stationed in Heilbronn, Germany and proudly served his country with the US 7th Army’s NATO Shield of Defense training operations and provided ambulance support and field medical care for the 556 Medical Company, 56th Medical Battalion.
Warren was a member of the North Central Assembly of God Church of Houston, Texas, the FFA, VFW and the American Legion. He also served for over 20 years as an election clerk for Harris County.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, DouVena Killion Knipe Ickert; one sister, Bonnie Hrachovy of Round Top.; three sons: Dennis “Dago” Coelho, (Bridget) of Houston; Ronny Knipe; Donny Knipe both of Round Top.; three daughters: Ronda Knipe Rich-Acreman, (Terry); Shelia Knipe Gillespie, (Gary) both of Round Top.; Marsha Ickert of Conroe; three daughters in heart: Annette Duke of Splendora; Bonnie Stacey, (Doyle) of Houston., Arvecie Hunt of La Grange; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Denover and Elvira Ickert; Adolph Schmidt; one brother, Ralph Schmidt; one infant son; one grandson and one great grandson.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations, 208 West Pearl St., in La Grange. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations, in La Grange, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Burial will follow at Florida Chapel Cemetery in Round Top.
