LG Council Clears Way For Downtown Brewery

La Grange City Council approved a second reading Monday night of an ordinance amendment that would allow the manufacture of beer, wine and distilled spirits in town. The move comes as local entrepreneur Travis Hardaway plans to start brewing beer in La Grange.

In an interview with the Record on Wednesday, Hardaway said he and his business partner and brewmaster John Rohan plan to open a brewpub in the downtown area.

“This is basically a hobby that got crazy and now we are looking to take it to the next level,” Hardaway said.

Hardaway said they are looking at three properties in close proximity to the downtown square, but they have not yet selected a location.
