Larry Ray Vasek, 70, of La Grange, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019.

Larry was born in La Grange on Oct. 6, 1948, the son of Florence John and Annie (Belota) Vasek. He married Linda Zigal on April 18, 1970 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Plum. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange and the Knights of Columbus.

Larry graduated from La Grange High School and the University of Houston with a degree in Marketing. Larry worked for LCRA as a budget planner for 34 years and had previously been employed by Gulf Oil in Houston.

Larry had various interests and hobbies. He enjoyed photography, painting, fishing, hunting, and sports. He followed the Houston Astros and Texans. Larry especially enjoyed coaching and watching his daughter play softball from Little League to College.

He is survived by wife, Linda, of 49 years; daughter, Lyndsey Vasek, both of La Grange; brother, Tommy Vasek and wife, Marie, of New Braunfels; step-mother, Evelyn Vasek of La Grange; step-sister, Debby Martinez and husband, Frank, of Rosenburg; nephews: Greg Trlicek and wife, Tammy of La Grange; David Vasek and wife, Amanda of New Braunfels; nieces: Debbie Gaertner of La Grange; Katie Haley and husband, Derrik of New Braunfels; numerous great nieces and nephews; and special pet, Ellie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Adolf and Rosie Zigal.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home & Cremations. Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, La Grange, Texas, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, 2019. Burial will follow at La Grange City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Sacred Heart Catholic School Library, La Grange Little League Association, or to the charity of one’s choice.
